Photography at the Farm

Real moments.
Real animals.
A working farm.

Step into the pasture with our Highland cows — candid, calm, sometimes unpredictable, often beautiful in ways that cannot be forced. Sessions are intentional, not staged, and built to honor the animals as much as the art.

A different kind of access
This is not open access.
This is a working farm —
not a staged set.

We love seeing people capture the special moments they experience here. For some, photography is casual. For others, it’s art. For many, it’s restorative. We respect all of it — which is why we don’t treat the pasture like a free-for-all.

Every option below is intentionally designed to protect the animals and the farm, elevate the experience, and give photographers a place to create meaningful work. The goal is not to pose the animals. The goal is to experience them, and capture what unfolds.

What unfolds

Moments are candid,
calm, and entirely their own.

Animals are not props. They move freely, respond to their environment, and cannot be forced into position. Come prepared — and the farm will give you something the studio never could.

Quiet moments, on their own time.
  1. i.

    Candid

Real interaction, not direction. The fold responds to what you bring — not the other way around.

  2. ii.

    Natural

Light, breath, fur, grass. The frame fills itself with what’s already there.

  3. iii.

    Playful

Especially the calves. Curiosity and short attention spans, all at once.

  4. iv.

    Spontaneous

Posed shots happen — never on command. Come ready for what the day offers.

The path to Approved status

Earn your spot in the pasture.

Tiers 01 and 02 are reserved for Approved Photographers. To become approved, you attend a Photographer Training Day at the farm — roughly two hours covering animal behavior, safe handling, fold boundaries, on-site flow, and our usage & royalty agreement in plain language.

It’s not a gatekeeper — it’s the thing that makes everything afterward work. Once you’ve completed a Training Day, you can book Tier 01 and Tier 02 sessions whenever you want.

How a session unfolds

Booked. Briefed.
Then — the pasture.

Sessions follow a deliberate cadence. The hour with the cows is the smallest part of it, and the part everything else is designed to protect.

Non-negotiables

A few things everyone

These keep the animals safe, the farm working, and your shoot on track. Read once, understand fully — by booking, you agree to all of them.

  1. 01
    Scheduling Window

All Approved and Approved-Lite sessions must be scheduled at least 10 days in advance, within regular operating hours (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM), and confirmed by the farm.

  3. 03
    Safety Training & Waivers

Every participant — photographer, assistant, and client — completes safety training and signs a waiver before entering animal areas. Closed-toed shoes, always.

  4. 04
    Respect the Animals

No chasing, forcing, stressing, or repositioning of the cows. We reserve the right to end any session that does not meet this standard — no refund.

  5. 05
    Posed Shots Are Not Guaranteed

The cows do what cows do. Posed moments happen, but they are never promised. Come prepared for the candid version of what you envisioned.

Commercial Royalties

Any commercial monetization beyond original client fees (stock, fine art prints, third-party licensing) is subject to a 15% royalty on Gross Revenue.

Delivery Schedule

High-resolution edited images must be delivered to the farm within 14 days of client delivery, or within 90 days for non-client / hobbyist work — whichever comes first.

Final word

This is a privilege,
not a rental.

The photographers who understand that thrive here. Those who don’t won’t be a fit. If the way we do this resonates — we’d love to have you in the pasture.
